PAUL BERT AWARD FOR PHYSIOLOGICAL RESEARCH
Established by the Aerospace Physiology Society in 1969, the award is named in honor of the famous French physiologist and “Father of Pressure Physiology.” The award is presented annually for outstanding research contributions in the field of aerospace physiology and consists of a wall plaque, a certificate, and an honorarium.
Beginning in 1973, the Sierra Engineering Company of Sierra Madre, CA, sponsored the award and honorarium. In 1978, Sierra Engineering Company merged with Scott Aviation of Lancaster, NY. In 2002, NTI, Inc. assumed sponsorship of the award, and in 2006, Wyle became the award’s newest sponsor.
